I knew at an early age I wanted to play music! I got a drum kit at age 6! After having to move it from the attic to the basement EVERY TIME I wanted to play it, I learned that drums were NOT for me! I moved to clarinet in the 4th grade. Then the guitar and bass. It all went south from there.

Born in Baltimore, I first started playing gospel music at the age of 12 years old through my teen years . I was and still am influenced by many musicians from local to national acts (too many to name).

I love learning and listening to many styles of music from R&B, Rock, Blues, Funk, Country and Jazz. A few of my favorite early gig memories are the many churches and schools that I played in my teen years. I stopped playing for about 15 years until I met Kevin Baker in a music store in 1999. We started a Blues/Rock band called Urban Rose. Other fun projects followed as the years rolled by.

I joined Thunderball April of 2012 and I am still enjoying myself.

One of my favorite quotes: I try to do good in the world not out of fear for hell or reward of heaven, but because it feels better not to be an asshole.

KEVIN BAKER

– Lead Guitar –

Inspired to play guitar at the age of 13 by listening to local guitar players in Laurel M.D such as Dave Solentano (Check his You Tube Videos — awesome player) and Marty Friedman (Megadeath), Laurel seemed to have so many great players while I was in growing up, along with learning to play the blues from my brother Mike Baker. I Played in local bands Lofton (with Je Reid from SR71 R.I.P my friend) and he was one of the most gifted players and ears around), Crash Nelson, Collide, and other projects locally. Played abroad with The Good Guys from Richmond V.A where we opened for the band Living Color overseas.

My biggest influences are in no particular order:
Steve Stevens, Randy Rhoads, Ted Nugent,Carlos Santana, Al Dimeola, Chick Corea, Neal Schon, Patti Labelle, Zack Wylde, George Benson, David Sanborn, George Lynch, and many others from all genres. Learning how to play all styles is a key to being a complete guitar player. Of course like all my band mates I love to watch sports and movies. My love for all things Los Angeles is where the Big L.A comes from, The L.A. Lakers being my favorite sports team, along with my fav movies like the Godfather, Tombstone, Anchorman 1 and 2, Star Wars (Darth Vadar rules!) and so many others.
